Starting out with Lesson Study

Our Geography NQT Tom O’Dowd led last week’s 15-Minute Forum on Lesson Study and how it might be the way forward for lesson observations here at Wellacre:

Lesson study has been described in this blog from the Teacher Development Trust as a “breathtakingly simple and common-sense way of teachers developing their own practice” and seems to be a perfect match for the culture of openness and sharing we’re trying to develop at Wellacre. Without claiming to be an expert (I’m not), the aim of the 15-Minute Forum this week was simply to spread the word about Lesson Study and get some commitment from colleagues to trial it. I’ll report back next term on our progress!
